Three-apple five-spice tagine

Here is a 100% vegetarian tagine for lovers of cooked apples, spices and vanilla. Served with a scoop of vanilla ice cream it is an excellent dessert.

Easy and quick to prepare, this tagine is an ideal autumn and winter dessert.

Ingredients for 4 people :

2 apples Braeburn 2 Boskoop apples 2 Elstar apples 40 g salted butter 100 g cane sugar 1⁄2 tsp five spices 1 vanilla bean.

Recipe for the Three-apple and five-spice tagine

Peel the apples, cut them in half, core them and cut them into thick slices.

Cut the butter into cubes and spread them in the tagine.

Add the apples by mixing the varieties.

Mix the sugar and the five spices, pour over the apples.

Scrape out the vanilla beans and add them. Mix. Pour in 20 cl of water. Cover and cook over a very low heat for 1h30, checking the level of liquid.

Serve hot or warm with a scoop of ice cream.
